What gems stands for!

Hey friends out there!
Recently I am quite overwhelmed with pressures and a lot of decision makings.
I am not quite sure of a lot of things.
As I try to fulfil my responsibilities in life, which at times give me no sense of fulfillment,
I begin to ponder what do I want my life to be like.
I believe God grants us free choice & we ultimately reap what we sow.
I come out with a personal motto for which my life will be based on and
it is painted out in the picture above.
This is what gems stands for!
Life is experienced!
Life.
This word conjures up vitality.
It should be colourful.
Duty is but part of it.
So experiential learning is what I value.
For there are so many solutions to an answer.
At times, questions themselves are better than answers.
That's deep but haha, that's what I think.
And of course no matter what decision I make, I have to take up the responsibility.
I hope that my life will add meaning to others' lives as well.
Ultimately, I am sure that God is walking with me no matter where I go as long as I love him with all my heart, all my strength, all my might and all my soul.
Undoubtedly, He loves gems above all and His love is the same yesterday, today and forevermore.
Inspired by God,
gems

John 14:27 (KJV)

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Romans 8:28 (KJV)

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Rejoice

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

Step by step

Above all

-From Australia Hillsongs

Above all powers, above all kings

Above all nature and all created things

Above all wisdom and all the ways of man

You were here before the world began

Above all kingdoms, above all thrones
Above all wonders the world has ever known

Above all wealth and treasures of the earth

There's no way to measure what you're worth

Crucified

Laid behind a stone

You lived to die

Rejected and alone

Like a rose

Trampled on the ground

You took the fall

And thought of me

Above all
Above all powers, above all kings

Above all nature and all created things

Above all wisdom and all the ways of man

You were here before the world began

Above all kingdoms, above all thrones

Above all wonders the world has ever known

Above all wealth and treasures of the earth

There's no way to measure what you're worth

Crucified

Laid behind a stone

You lived to die

Rejected and alone

Like a rose

Trampled on the ground

You took the fall

And thought of me

Above all

Crucified

Laid behind a stone

You lived to die

Rejected and alone

Like a rose

Trampled on the ground

You took the fall

And thought of me

Above all

Like a rose

Trampled on the ground

You took the fall

And thought of me

Above all

Psalm 128

1: Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
2: For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
3: Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
4: Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.
5: The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
6: Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

-Psalm128:1-6 (KJV)

Blessed Is Everyone Who Fears the Lord
A Song of Ascents. (ESV)
Psalm128
1 Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways!
2 You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house;your children will be like olive shoots around your table.
4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord.
5 The Lord bless you from Zion!May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life!
6 May you see your children's children! Peace be upon Israel!

In His steps

But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
My feet have closely followed his steps;
I have kept to his way without turning aside.
-Job 23:10-11

Wow! What a good spirit to learn from! =)

A Finished Work

“God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished.” -Philippians 1:6

The message of Jesus to the religious person is simple: It’s not what you do. It’s what I do. I have moved in.

Religious rule-keeping can sap your strength. It’s endless. There is always another class to attend, Sabbath to obey, Ramadan to observe. No prison is as endless as the prison of perfection. Her inmates find work but never find peace. How could they? They never know when they are finished.

Christ, however, gifts you with a finished work. He fulfilled the law for you. Bid farewell to the burden of religion. Gone is the fear that having everything done, you might not have done enough. You climb the stairs, not by your strength, but his. God pledges to help those who stop trying to help themselves.

God with us

-Don Moen

He walked where I walked
He stood where I stand
He felt what I feel
He understands
He knows my frailty
Shared my humanity
Tempted in every way
Yet without sin

God with us
So close to us
God with us Emmanuel
Emmanuel

One of a hated race
Stung by the prejudice
Suffering injustice
Yet he forgives
Wept for my wasted years
Paid for my wickedness
He died in my place
That I might live

Emmanuel
Emmanuel

Jesus says " I understand how you feel. I care about you and I want to help you."
Oh how sweet! May our life be filled with divine grace and mercy from above! =)

My wish list

This semester is just like a marathon for me. It is already half-way through! Somehow I feel tired recently. My spark of creativity and enthusiasm can refresh my spirits at times. I just wish that...

I can be faithful &

" Whatever I do, work at it with all my heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since I know that I will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ I am serving."
-Colossians 3:23-24

It is really much more inspiring and fulfilling even to serve God in our undertakings. Men at times will not be uplifting or inspiring but God always is. =)

Press on!

Be happy

Light is sweet,
and it pleases the eyes to see the sun.
However many years a man may live,
let him enjoy them all.
But let him remember the days of the darkness,
for they will be many.
Everything to come is meaningless.
Be happy, young man, while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgement.
So then, banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless.
- Ecclesiastes 11:9-10

Philippians 4:4-5

I often like to quote Philippians 4:6-7. The 2 verses before that are just as meaningful.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. THE LORD IS NEAR. - Philippians 4:4-5

Indeed, the holy spirit is just like our big brother- coming alongside to strengthen us. I enjoy praying to God. He is near to listen to us.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in EVERYTHING, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7

He is interested in every aspects of our life. He gives us love, joy, peace & so much more wonderful gifts! Thanks be to God! =)

Hide Me in the Shelter

Words by Scott Brenner & Cheryl Thomas
Music by Scott Brenner

Under the shadow of your wings
Here in the secret place of your holiness
I will wait on you, O Lord, my God and King
Here in the Holiest of All
You draw me near with love to abandon all
For the sake of knowing you, my God and King

(chorus)
Hide me in the shelter of your love
Deep in the center of your heart, my Lord
How I want to know you more
And keep me in the shadow of your wings
Safe in the secret place of holiness
How I need you more and more
(And more and more)

Hide me, and keep me, O Lord
Safe in the secret place, safe in the secret place

Patience

Patience is also a form of action. -Auguste Rodin

Before love is anything, it is patient...
" Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres..."- 1 Corin 13:4-7
